Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play Tic-Tac-Go?

Move your player with the arrow keys, WASD, or by swiping on a phone. Walk into an X or O piece to push it one square. You win when three O's stand together in a straight line, and your player counts as one of the O's. If three X's ever stand together in a line, the puzzle is lost.

Is Tic-Tac-Go free?

Yes. Every puzzle is free to play in your browser, with no download, no account, and no payment of any kind.

How often is a new puzzle released?

A new puzzle joins the collection every day, and the full archive stays open, so you can play or replay any earlier puzzle whenever you like.

What if I get stuck on a puzzle?

You can undo any move with the Z key or the left arrow button, replay moves with the right arrow button, or press R to restart. If you want the answer, open the menu and press Solve to watch the recorded best solution play itself.

What does the best score mean?

Every puzzle stores the strongest solution achieved so far: the fewest moves, with the fastest time as a tie-breaker. Beat it and your run becomes the new record that other players watch when they press Solve.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The game runs in any modern mobile browser. Swipe to move your player, and use the on-screen buttons to undo and replay moves.
